Around the Town

Overlooking the lovely Viking Bay is the Bandstand, home to the popular Hobby Horse Club, with its resident crew of Clarence the Dragon, those pesky Hooden Horses and your master of mayhem, Mick Scott. Free family fun every day. There are also afternoon and early evening shows for all to enjoy – music, song and dance.

Free entry to the Craft & Music Fair -open from the first Saturday to the last Friday with a huge variety of ceramics, clothing, musical instruments, paintings, jewellery and gifts.

The Big Parade on Saturday – a family-friendly procession of music, morris and magic, starting from Pierremont Hall at 5.30pm.

Masses of morris dancers throng the streets and a wide range of fabulous music in many of the town's pubs.

There are daily lunchtime music sessions at the Concert Marquee bar and the George Inn, and the lunchtime Singalong at the Neptune's Hall which is one of the long-time favourite events at the festival.  So dust off your instruments, and practise some singing and come along to join in.

Please note that the programme of free events for Folk Week starts on the first Saturday but the ticketed events start on the Friday with an evening concert, early evening dance and late night dance.
