Our new home for the festival campsite is Charles Dickens school, situated within walking distance of the town. There are two level ground fields – field A and field B. Field A is next to the school buildings where the onsite catering, toilets, (including full disabled amenities), showers, country dancing and late night events for Season Ticket holders only are located. This is also the home of the wonderful Panic Circus who will entertain your children throughout the days, and teach them some very useful circus skills!
Field B is adjoining with a separate gated entrance and has portable toilets on site and pedestrian access to the facilities on Field A. Tents, caravans and campers are allowed on either field. Cars can park adjacent to tents on field B and in designated areas on field A. All areas are covered by CCTV and on-site night-time security
The campsite opens from 10am on Friday 9 August 2013 and closes at midday on Saturday 17 August 2013.
Camping on the Festival site is ONLY available with a Season Ticket.
No under 18 year olds are admitted without adults accompanying them. Strictly no animals allowed on site, other than guide dogs.
The general spirit of Folk Week is one of consideration for others and locating the late nights in the hall means that the noise levels are contained. Although we appreciate some people’s need to showcase their prowess on the 3 string guitar at half-past two in the morning - unacceptable levels of noise will not be tolerated on either field.
Please be aware that if we consider your behaviour is threatening the future of the festival at this site – we will ask you to leave. The campsite is not on a green field site away from everyone, it is in a residential area and we like to have happy neighbours. In 2013, the campsite will be open for Season Ticket holders from 10.00am on Friday 9th August and close at midday on Saturday 17th August 2012.
ONLY SEASON TICKET HOLDERS ARE PERMITTED TO CAMP. This is not limited to week long tickets. As long as you have a season ticket for the day/night you camp, you can camp on the site for upwards of 1 night. • THERE ARE NO ANIMALS ALLOWED ON SITE. • All under 18 year olds must be accompanied by adult Season Ticket holders on the same booking form. Unaccompanied under 18 year olds will not be admitted. • All cooking appliances brought on site must comply with all relevant safety regulations. • No fireworks, smoke canisters or other dangerous items. • The campsite is a no smoking zone.
We don’t sell camping spaces without Season Tickets, so everyone who wants to camp must be a Season Ticket holder. You can camp for just one night, a couple of midweek nights – or a weekend – or a full week – just let us know what combination you would like. Click here to go to the price panel and Booking Form.
In 2013, Camping Season Tickets - Bookings in person or by phone or Paypal can be done until midnight 1st August 2013. After that, they must be made in person at the campsite. If you arrive later than 9pm on the day you wish to camp, you will be given an overnight camping pass, but this does not entitle you to entry of events. A full ticket will be issued the next day from 0900 hours at the admin office of the campsite. If you’re thinking of turning up without booking for the campsite – please don’t!!
