Track Dogs

The band takes it’s name from the maintenance teams working the subway tracks in New York City. These teams have to look out for each other and are a closely-knit group much like the band of four ex-pats living in Spain who came together in 2011 to make their unique brand of acoustic music.
Eschewing the typical band line-up they have opted for Cajón (flamenco box drum) instead of drums and trumpet in place of electric guitar. Four-part harmonies steal the show.

Made up of two Irishmen; Garrett Wall (Vocals/Guitar/Ukulele/Piano) & Dave Mooney (Bass/Uke/Vocals), Englishman Howard Brown (Trumpet/Vocals/Percussion) and Cleveland, Ohio native Robbie K Jones (Cajón/Banjo/Vocals) 2013 and 2014 meant turning corners for Track Dogs. They had their US debut at SXSW for two showcases and Spain’s Ministry of Culture awarded them two separate grants to represent that country at home and abroad – a big deal for an Irish band whose only non-Irish members are from the UK and the US.

“This band turned out to be a total discovery, with vocal harmonies on a par with groups like Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, America or the most melodic style of, for example, the Eagles mixed in with the graceful irreverence of The Pogues.”
