Practical Information

The festival campsite is located at Charles Dickens school, situated within walking distance of the town. There are two level well-drained fields connected by a path.

The fields are marked out with wide aisles and plenty of space.

Field A is next to the school building where the onsite catering, toilets (including full disabled amenities) showers and events for Festival Ticket holders are located.

Field B is adjoining with a separate gated entrance and has portable toilets on site and pedestrian access to the facilities on Field A.

Cars for both fields must be parked in the nearby car parks after unloading but the car parks are right next to the fields.

Tents, caravans and campers are allowed on either field. All areas are covered by CCTV and on-site night-time security

The campsite opens from 10am on Friday 11th August and closes at midday on Saturday 19th August 2017.

Camping on the Festival site is ONLY available with a FESTIVAL Ticket.

On-Site Facilities

We're very pleased to welcome back Moor & Coast as our resident caterers - lots of hearty food served with inimitable Yorkshire humour.

Indoor Showers and toilet facilities. Plus disabled toilets and indoors disabled suite.

On-site catering indoors for breakfasts, snacks, dinners and late-nights and general chilling.

Fully-rigged theatre for intimate performances

24 hour security, CCTV and wardens.

On-site check-in for Festival Ticket holders, morris sides and musicians.

The general spirit of Folk Week is one of consideration for others and locating the late nights in the hall means that the noise levels are contained. Although we appreciate some people’s need to showcase their prowess on the 3 string guitar at half-past two in the morning - unacceptable levels of noise will not be tolerated on either field.

Please be aware that if we consider your behaviour is threatening the future of the festival at this site – we will ask you to leave. The campsite is not on a green field site away from everyone, it is in a residential area and we like to have happy neighbours.

In 2017, the campsite will be open for Festival Ticket holders from 10.00am on Friday 11th August and close at midday on Saturday 19th August

ONLY FESTIVAL TICKET HOLDERS ARE PERMITTED TO CAMP. This is not limited to week long tickets. As long as you have a Festival ticket for the day/night you camp, you can camp on the site for upwards of 1 night.

THERE ARE NO ANIMALS ALLOWED ON SITE. Other than guide dogs. All under 18 year olds must be accompanied by adult Festival Ticket holders on the same booking form. Unaccompanied under 18 year olds will not be admitted. All cooking appliances brought on site must comply with all relevant safety regulations. •  No fireworks, smoke canisters or other dangerous items. •  The campsite is a no smoking zone.
