Ernestine lawrence

A passionate dancer with a broad experience across multiple dance genres, Ernestine began her ballet journey at the age of five, continuing her practice into her 20s. With a deep love for folk dance, she was the chairperson of the Newnham English Folk Dance Club in the 1990s, a time when Jack Hamilton was a frequent caller. Ernestine also ran the Sheerness Scottish Heather Club from 2011 to 2019, furthering her dedication to folk traditions. She danced with The London Quadrille Club, honing her skills in various styles. After returning to Thanet in 2019 and spending time dancing in Nord Pas de Calais, she founded The French Connection, a monthly European Folk Music and Dance session, now hosted at ARK, Cliftonville. Her ongoing commitment to the folk dance community continues to inspire and engage dancers of all levels.
