Harmonia evolved out of the 2020 lockdown, when Jo Freya and Annie Whitehead, both experts in their fields of music, received a bursary from the EDFFS to reimagine and rearrange traditional English tunes from a cross genre perspective, drawing on their diverse musical roots in folk, jazz, world and pop music.

As the idea for an album and live shows took shape, much loved and admired co-conspirators Jo May, Jennifer Maidman and Alistair Gavin joined the band. The result is Harmonia, an eclectic and irresistible mix of traditional and contemporary melodies and songs, with bags of harmony and deep, rhythmic groove.

Annie Whitehead: Trombone

Jo Freya: Soprano sax, trad whistles,

Jo May: Percussion tuned and untuned

Jennifer Maidman: Guitar, Bass, Uke.
