Maggie Harris

Maggie Harris was born in Guyana and lives in Broadstairs. A prize-winning poet and author, she’s published six collections of poetry, a memoir, Kiskadee Girl, and three collections of short stories,. A lover of folk music, she’s been going to Broadstairs Folk  Week for 40 years. She’s performed her work across the UK, Europe, the Caribbean and in India. Her poetry has been broadcast on BBC Radio Kent and features as an art installation in the Westgate Gardens, Canterbury.

Maggie is the host of the very popular Poets’ Breakfast, held daily from Saturday 12 August to Friday 18 August from 10am to 11am, at the Neptune’s Hall pub. Everyone is welcome to come and share their poems in this supportive group.
