Morag Butler

MORAG BUTLER runs Rosslyn Court, our nearest Folk venue in Margate and is known for singing thoughtful, humorous -and sometimes risqué- songs as well as the traditional and contemporary folk.

She was described recently as a “Margate legend”. In 2024, she has initiated a fascinating community project that explores perceptions of England through music will culminate in four concerts staged across Margate.

Echoes of England: The Margate Songbook will feature more than 80 songs and accompanying interviews which have been collected from the community at public spaces such as the International Food Centre, care homes, and the Dalby Café.

Morag hosts the Sailing Club Afternoon Folk Sessions which is in safe hands.
