Experience the beauty and depth of Persian music with the Persian String Collective—an ensemble of four skilled musicians performing on santoor, kamanche, tonbak, and violin, brought to Folk Week in partnership with One World Orchestra. Led by the accomplished Ustad Ramin Rouholamin, the group brings a thoughtful and refined interpretation of traditional Persian sounds to the stage. With a focus on both authenticity and creative expression, their performance gently blends classical forms with modern sensibilities. Each instrument adds its unique voice to the ensemble: the shimmering melodies of the santoor, the warm tones of the kamanche, the rhythmic pulse of the tonbak, and the lyrical lines of the violin. A special guest will also join the group, adding another layer to the musical conversation. Together, they create a performance that is both grounded in tradition and open to new possibilities. The Persian String Collective offers a chance to enjoy a rich musical heritage through a contemporary lens.
We welcome the Persian String Collective to our Pierremont Park Community Hub stage with thanks to Arts Counci England.
