Campsite Warden – voluntary role

Broadstairs Folk Week is looking to recruit a number of Campsite Wardens to work alongside our existing Team during this years Festival.

In exchange for just 35 hours a week you will have the opportunity to be an integral part of this amazingly diverse festival, plus you get free camping if needed.

The Wardens, working alongside the Campsite Manager, are responsible for the safety and security of the campers and the campsite, ensuring the campers have an enjoyable stay, troubleshooting and dealing with potential  problems, ideally before they occur, dealing with difficulties due to weather conditions (it is an English summer after all !), ensuring the low noise policy is observed, and generally having an eye on camper’s  behaviour and addressing any issues in a safe and courteous manner.

The Wardens also coordinate the activities of the Festival drivers and the minibuses, making sure that artists and their equipment are ferried to and from the various venues around the town, and maintaining a daily log of these activities.

Needles to say, a sense of humour and a thick skin are definitely required ! Tea, coffee and biscuits will, however, be available in copious quantity!

Our existing Team, some of whom have been volunteering for many years, will be there to show you the ropes, but if you need any further information before committing yourself, please give us a call or email enquiries@broadstairsfolkweek.org.uk and we will be happy to answer your questions.
