We were delighted to have so many people join our volunteer workforce in 2025, we even had to close the books so please don’t leave it too late to volunteer for 2026.
Folk Week volunteers are incredibly important to the Festival, as it just wouldn’t happen without you.

In exchange for volunteering 36hrs across the 8 days you will receive a full Festival ticket with free camping and access to the complimentary mini bus service. A festival ticket is the best way to explore this amazingly diverse festival.
If you are unable to volunteer all week, we still need you, in exchange for 4 hours volunteering you will receive a day ticket, giving you access to all ticketed events that day.
Many firm, lifelong friendships and some marriages – have been forged between volunteers during Broadstairs Folk Week. A testament to how much fun volunteering can be is the number of volunteers who now return every year to see their mates. Some volunteers have been coming back every year for decades!
A great thing about volunteering is that you can be anything from 18 to 80 – and the mix of the generations is one of the great strengths of the festival. Please let us know if you have any helpful skills: technical, stage management, sales person or just all round practical genius – the more we know the better we can make sure you are on the most appropriate team.
We will contact you in June, if not before, with details of which team you are joining., shifts etc, so you can start planning your week.
On arrival as a volunteer you will need to check in at the campsite office, you will be given your Volunteering pass and ticket, T-shirt etc –plus booked in for camping if you need it.
We will always try to give you shifts which reflect your interest and experience, but some compromises will inevitably need to be made.
