The Doug Hudson Band (formerly Hot Rats) features dazzling young fiddle player Matthew English who, at twenty years of age, is already attracting a big following both here and abroad. As well as concert and festival appearances, DHB, are also a formidable ceilidh/barn dance band provided driving dance tunes with Scott Kirk’s inventive bass lines enhancing Doug’s rhythmic guitar and Matthew’s flamboyant fiddle. Calling wise, Doug has taught over a quarter of a million foreign students to barn dance as well as performing and calling in Russian and French in both of those respective countries.
