Family Ceilidh with Chimera (Caller Annie Bolt)
August 12 AT 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Manchester’s favourite folk monster, Chimera are known for their infectious energy and driving tunes that will get everyone’s feet tapping. They pride themselves on their exhilarating, playful arrangements that put the punch and drive into dance tunes from across the UK and beyond, and are guaranteed to get you up on your feet and dancing, whether you’re a first-time folkie or a long-time veteran of the folk scene. Chimera has something for everyone and promise an excellent time for all. The six-piece line-up features melodeon, whistles, flute, ‘cello, trombone, drum-kit and altogether more XLR cables than is good and proper. The caller for this Ceilidh is Annie Bolt who began working as a caller in 2015 and has been a regular on the ceilidh and festival circuits since then, having called with bands such as Banter, Monster Ceilidh Band, Whapweasel, Brown Boots Boogie Band, The Diatonics, and her very own band Chimera for whom she also plays melodeon. Annie has a passion for all things English dance, which she brings to ceilidhs in the form of infectious high energy, with a focus on silliness and joy whilst expertly guiding dancers through their steps.
