Folk Club with Morag Butler, Guest Luke Wallace
August 12 AT 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Today Morag is joined by Canadian folk musician and speaker Luke Wallace, who has captivated audiences from the United Nations in New York City to stages across the U.S., Europe, and Canada. Renowned for his mesmerising stage presence, compelling songwriting, and work as a choir leader and environmental activist, Luke is considered a key voice in the next wave of Canadian folk artists. His song Turning The Tide was chosen by the CBC for nationwide school distribution, earning awards in two categories and inspiring thousands of students to perform their own versions. In 2021, Luke co-launched the Youth Climate Activism Award, helping it grow into a nationally celebrated program recognising young climate leaders. During his 2023 U.S. tour, Luke composed Sons and Daughters for Grammy-winning choir Tonality, premiered at The Ebell Centre in Los Angeles, and is now sung by 85 choirs worldwide. He has also partnered with major U.S. music collectives, including organising a fundraiser for Playing For Change in Venice Beach. Luke’s 2022 single Comeback has garnered over 130,000 Spotify streams.
