Hosted by Jim Glover, the evening brings together an exceptional lineup of guests including Ken Wilson of the Wilson Family, Barrie and Ingrid Temple, Cappella, and Whole Hearted (of Victory Morris). Ken Wilson
Ken WIlson lives in Teesside, North–East England and started singing in the early seventies. Finding his own voice and repertoire of songs with a preference to the tradition, he names the likes of Fred Jordan, the Copper family and The Watersons as some of his main influences at that time, but the singing of one Tony Rose, having the greatest impression on him.He shares his love of ‘Folk Songs’ with his other siblings, The Wilson Family who he sang with, from the mid 1970’s – 2020!…The Family were awarded the EFDSS Gold Badge in 2017.Ken has released two solo albums, “Not Before Time” in 2008, and ‘Portraits’ in 2018!…Ken has also released an album,“Here’s a Health to the Company!” with his good friend and fellow singer Jim MacFarland who he began touring with in 2013.”These days Ken is much admired on the ‘folk scene’ as a solo performer, singing unaccompanied traditional and contempary songs, from big choruses, social comment songs to beautiful ballads, his voice is a joy to listen to”…Everyman Folk Club – Suffolk”It shows that Ken’s voice is as good as any out there – rich, strong yet effortless, and beautifully controlled”….Living Tradition (‘Portraits’ Cd Review)
Barrie & Ingrid Temple are from the North-East of England, they are harmony singers of traditional and original songs. Mainly singing accapella, with Barrie using guitar or concertina to accompany some of the songs. Barrie’s songs are sung through out the World.
Capella are Tony & Lesley Petty, a close-harmony duo of stunning quality. Based in the English tradition but including songs old and new from other backgrounds, they have a wide ranging repertoire and are fun, witty and deeply passionate
