August 13 AT 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm

As one of England’s most revered folk performers, widely acknowledged as one of the finest acoustic and slide guitar players in the world, Martin Simpson needs no introduction. A prolific and celebrated songwriter, Martin’s most recent solo album, Skydancers, was Number Two in MOJO’s Folk Albums of the Year. “I do believe this set could be equal to, maybe better than, anything he’s ever done” – Ian Anderson, TRADFOLK
Liz Hanks (cello) plays regularly with Richard Hawley and Thea Gilmore, has recorded and toured with artists such as Liam Gallagher, Pulp, and sitarist Jasdeep Singh Degun, and is hugely in demand as a session musician.
A former pupil of Martin, Louis Campbell (electric guitar) is best known for his duo with fiddle player Owen Spafford and as a side-person for Sam Sweeney and Sam Lee.
“One of the virtuoso instrumentalists of the English music scene” ‘Sounds better than ever’ **** 4 Stars The Guardian
Supported by Roswell Road, a joyful, harmony-obsessed Americana duo from London, UK, and the project of Zoë Wren and Jasmine Watkiss. Zoë and Jasmine launched Roswell Road after a chance meeting through a mutual friend led to them being forced to perform together in the very public setting of Ely Market Square. The musical chemistry was instantaneous and they’ve been performing and writing songs together ever since.
